Radol'ca and its surrounds offer plenty of hiking opportunities. Choose from a range of undemanding walks through the fields and forests, or conquer the highest peaks of the Karavanke Range. Situated in the immediate vicinity of Triglav National Park, this location means that the starting points for ascents into the Julian Alps are never far away.
If you want to reward yourself with a panoramic view, hike up to St Peter (839 m.a.s.l.) above Begunje, or hike to Talež mountain pasture (725 m.a.s.l.) on the Jelovica Plateau or from the village of Kropa to the church in the village of Jamnik (831 m.a.s.l.). You will need to be in slightly better shape for the hike up to the mountain pastures of Vodiška planina (1110 m.a.s.l.) or Zgoška ravan (926 m.a.s.l.) on the Jelovica Plateau.

From the Draga Valley, near the village of Begunje, waymarked trails lead up to the Polška planina (1180 m.a.s.l.), Planinica (1128 m.a.s.l.) and Preval (1311 m.a.s.l.) mountain pastures and Roblek Hut (1657 m.a.s.l.), which is sung about in Avsenik's tune. All these are situated along the Shepherd’s Trail, which can be walked in five to six hours.

From Roblek Hut you can continue your ascent to the highest peak in Radol’ca, Mt. Begunjščica with Veliki vrh peak at 2060 m.a.s.l. The nearby Mt. Stol (2236 m.a.s.l.), the highest peak in the Karavanke Range, can be accessed from several directions, and the third peak over two thousand meters above Radol'ca is Mt. Vrtača (2181 m.a.s.l.).

Above the panoramic road that wends its way between the villages of Begunje and Tržič is the ridge of Mt. Dobrča (1634 m.a.s.l.), accessible along several trails all year round.

The Julian Alps are not far away either. A number of starting points in Bohinj, on the Pokljuka Plateau and in the Upper Sava Valley, are only 30 to 50 minutes away by car.

The hiking trails are well marked and you can visit them on your own. The Radovljica Tourist Information Centre can arrange a guide for you who will, upon request, take you to some of the less frequently visited trails. Kunstelj Guest House offers hiker-friendly accommodation at the heart of Radovljica.
